Getting things done is so ubiquitous that it probably needs no introduction, but as my career developed and my home life grew more complex I needed to improve how I managed my time and that meant leaving behind some bad habits. This book and this deck helped with that transformation and while I’m now quite a few years down the line with that process I still keep working through these cards to keep the core principles of GTD front of mind, so I can use it in my own life and to coach others. Whatever your preferred method of organisation, I think having a way of capturing your thinking and working through it methodically is crucial to maintaining a good work life balance. As David Allen says in the book this supports a feeling of relaxed control that I’ve found makes me more productive and effective but also makes me enjoy work more. The deck covers the some of the principles and practices of GTD (how to break down projects into actionable steps, stages in the workflow, the importance of review) and I hope after reading the book and studying the notes, you get the same results.
